Title: Good hunt Post by: AnotherRunner on March 16, 2013, 05:25:20 pm We had a good hunt this morning. Met up around 7:00am and dropped on some sign to start off the day. Dogs hit nothing there so we loaded up and went all the way to the other end of the lease. Dropped, walked them in about 400 yards and it was so full of sign dogs split different directions. Me and my buddy went one way and other two the other way. We walked until we were about 800 yards apart and I got a phone call from them saying they had a big 250+ boar bayed. We were too far away and the dogs were in hot sign so we couldn't make it to them. Their hog broke and ran the dogs to a smaller 120 lb boar ( they had one strike and a CD with them) and the dog bayed him up. Cutter caught ear and was a done deal. Meanwhile me and my buddy 800 yards away get on 4 shoats about 40-60 lb range and the dogs took after them. Ran about 300 yards then bayed up against a log and was caught. Flipped and tied a 40 lb sow. It was a great hunt being we finally found where the hogs have been holding and getting to catch two! Got pics of one but released other before I got pics. She's a young dog and On this hunt she was short to midrange. I pretty sure after she gets a couple of hunts in she will hunt out further... I have a good pack started for sure.. With her, Case, and Bella ( which caught which caught that shoat today ) will be a good solid pack ..
