Title: Terrier kennel agrressive Post by: Dogs,hogs,coons on March 31, 2013, 09:03:39 pm My jagd pup is now 6 months and I have him in my kennel with two other patterdales. He doesn't have a problem with them but my cat next kennel over from him he seems to hate. He won't ever shut up and acts like he wants to tear her up. But soon as I take him out and let him in the run with her he just plays and they don't have a problem. I just want to make sure I don't need to chanw something because I've heard that agression in the wrong places can mess them up.?

Alot to do with boredom not getting out to do any thing . I went to a big kennel to look at a hound pup . The adult dogs were trying to fight through the hence . I keep mine tied aways apart and dont have any prob .

Most jagd breeders will or should advise this. You may not have problems now and it may be 2 months or 2 years...but there will be issues. When they fight...it is not to establish dominance. Bump said it well they don’t scrap to form a pecking order… they are trying to kill and another dog seems to be the only thing that can damage the little demons. At a minimum a Jagd fence fighting can make every other dog in your kennel go nuts and start their own fence fights but broken teeth, ripped lips, crushed paws, and broken legs can happen real fast.
Heck even the cur dogs (some best buddies) kept doing damage to each other fence fighting it’s something about having a barrier in-between them that causes problems. They need hunted twice as much as any other breed to stay mentally balanced.jmo

I agree with all above post, I've had to separate 5 week old pups...pup or not they need an outlet.
