Post by: aussiedogger on February 25, 2008, 08:19:56 pm hey ya'll :) just wonderin... if you have a young dog that has been brought up around pet pigs do u think this would reck it? eg. if the dog is used to pet pigs would it not hammer a wild one? if you get what i mean?

Once the dog finds out that catching wild pigs is a rush and is allowed, I fear that your pet pig would not be safe. Just my own opinion though M Title: Re: will pet pig ruin my dog? Post by: aussiedogger on February 26, 2008, 03:02:16 pm i caught this pig as a piglet while i was huntin and decided to keep it as a practice pig. but now its just like a dog! it rolls over, follows everyone around, all the little kiddies ride it. the families too attached. My dog hasnt really been started yet. She's lugged up on a few little practice pigs in a pen. When she was a little pup i put her in with this piglette when she was about 9 weeks old. she gave it a hammering and hated it ever since. but now even though i never let them out together, she's not very interested in it.

Just my own opinion though M I agree with aladatrot..Once a dog gets the smell and taste of blood and knows what a pig is pet or not, I wouldn't trust my dogs around it...just my opinon also... Post by: aussiedogger on February 29, 2008, 06:05:33 am yeah it woulda been good. she onli nipped at it and bailed. quite dissapointing :( oh well. just needs more work and to mature a bit more. my dads mate's dog had a chop at it and lugged up like a trooper. onli the second pig its seen, and its only a bull arab/cattle dog cross. couldnt get him off till they stuck the pig.
