Title: Pups (updated...Pics) Post by: KevinN on June 01, 2013, 07:34:15 pm They'll be ready on June 8th
This was a planned breeding but I'm picking up a couple pups from a couple other good breedings that are ready at the same time and If I keep more than 2 or 3 from this litter I won't be able to get them all started properly. Sire is my BMC strike dog, Jasper. He is a young dog and still evolving but my description of him is accurate and current. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/umunejaz.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/qape2y2e.jpg) He's got a medium nose. He doesn't burn the woods up unless he is in a lot of sign. He is very thorough and has struck hogs other dogs have missed. He is short to medium range, 250-500 when he's the lead dog. When he's with a longer range dog he will get out and go as well. He's got A LOT of bottom/stick once he's seen a hog. On a bad hog in thick brush I watched him lose the hog (CD's got hung up on 3 separate releases) work the track back out and bay again....multiple times. That was the longest race he's been on and it was 3 1/2 hours. I cut him off/called him out. He weighs about 65lbs and is leggy and fast. He can suck a runner up on relatively open ground. His gritt is the only thing i would like to see improve. He will put his mouth on a small hog or sow to stop it and will catch with another dog on 100-150lb hogs, but a bigger or just rank Boar he gives to much space. The Dam is my 1/2 Catahoula 1/4 Red Bone 1/4 Pitt help dog Bella. She is also young and rough as a Cobb. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/e2yse5eh.jpg) She is hot to medium nosed and like Jasper she doesn't run crazy, she is thorough. She is short range out to 250. Like Jasper, She will stick on a hog once she has seen it. Problem is, she is real rough and thats not my style. It would eventually get either her or Jasper killed and for this reason I pretty much quit hunting her. I kept her specifically for this breeding. This is a first time breeding and what I'm hoping is to get a mix of the two. Pups are: 1/2 BMC 1/4 Catahoula 1/8 Red Bone 1/8 Pitt 1 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/dasysyze.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/reju2a6y.jpg) 2 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/tu3yte6e.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/8yzubyhu.jpg) 3 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/ysuse7er.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/a8uqe6uv.jpg) 4 female (not for sale) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/a4ytagaz.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/ema7a4em.jpg) 5 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/ajery3y2.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/y4e6usab.jpg) 6 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/ahy8aqur.jpg) 7 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/asa6a8et.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/8a3yseha.jpg) 8 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/9yrehynu.jpg) (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/egata5ur.jpg) 9 (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/02/mu9equ6a.jpg) Pups are wormed and they've had their first vacs. Only males available @ $150 or trade for a Garmin collar. I'll be visiting a buddy (halfbreed) in Van Zandt County one weekend in late June/July and could meet there, otherwise you'll need to pick them up.
