Post by: Bo Pugh on July 29, 2013, 08:20:09 pm
i was just sitting here brainstorming and wonder what would happen if i breed two males to a gyp, like breed one to her one day and the next day breed the other i have never done that or heard of it bein done but what would the outcome be?

You'd have puppies off two different male dogs.  There's no way to tell which pups belong to which male without the DNA test done.  It's a common deal if you really like the female and want pups outta more then one male.

The tests aren't as expensive you'd think neither.

Allotta times one sire produces all the pups as his sperm covers all available eggs. But when it works, it's pretty cool to get two litters in one

You can call DDC Veterinary at 1 800-625-0874. They will send you a dna kit for each dog. Sire, dam, & you would have to dna all pups to find out who the dad s are Tyhe tests are $38.00 a dog. Normally get results back within 10 days.

my guess is to breed them back to back...that should give the second male a better chance to sire more pups...

before there was such a thing as DNA testing I bred 2 Airedales and on the final day that the female Airedale was in heat I bred her once to my cur dog and I got one pup that looked to be 1/2 cur and all the other pups looked like pure Airedales...
