Title: Digital scales
Post by: muleskinner on August 22, 2013, 05:11:15 am
Just wondering what is a good  brand of digital scales to buy. Also how high of a weight do they go to. Where's the best place to order one. Thanks for any help.

If you don't have to have digital check with your local ag teachers I know when I was showing a ton of people had them to weigh goats pigs etc once they graduate they don't need em anymore

yeah I looked into them here a while back  go to the dr. fosters site they sell a few of them at different price ranges  . some are pretty expensive on other sites it mostly depends on the weight range that you want  .

I weigh my dogs by picking them up, stepping on the house scales, stepping off, weigh myself and subtract the first weight from my weight and it tells the dogs weight. Iv also used livestock scales, same principle as the balance scale for humans at the dr office, only set up for pigs, sherp goats n other small livestock

I'd like to find a good digital hanging scale so I can weigh hogs.  Anyone her used one they liked or was heavy duty?

I thought about the deal your talking about with the bathroom scales and then deducting the weight but bathroom scales barely weigh me much less both of us. Lol

I use true test. They are exspensive but well worth it if you weigh lots of hogs. There are a lot of cheap scales out there that won't hold up. Paul also makes a decent we.

Go to google and type in pallet scales. I bought some pretty nice scales for around $350 with free shipping. They weigh up to 660 pounds. I use em to weigh hogs

Can they be recalibrated to show zero if a corral or shoot has been placed atop of it?
