Title: Would anyone be interested in BMC X Boxer pups?
Post by: Bino9905 on August 04, 2009, 10:56:07 pm
I have a 70 lb male boxer that is really athletic and can run all day.
He is really smart and not afraid of anything. Since day one, he would run to a noise instead of away.
engines, hammers, drills, mowers, blow dryer, vacuum......nothing scares him.
He is a pet, so I cant risk taking him out hunting (girl friend would leave me) :). He does have a great prey drive and I know he would hunt if I had trained him.

The female BMC is 60 pounds and has a great build. A friend with years & years of hunting experience said she was built perfectly. He even commented on her thin coat that will help keep her from overheating. However she is very skittish, and I was told she would not hunt. I was also told her siblings are all great hunters and they didnt know why she was so skittish.

I assume that if I cull any skittish pups right away, the others should turn out to be good.

She is in heat now, I will let them breed if anyone shows interest. I know it is not a common cross on here, but I would be willing to give em away really cheap if anyone would take them and try to hunt them. My only request is that you let me know how they turn out.

Thanks

i can vouch for the bmc gyp. she is a nice looking and real good built, strong and muscular, short haired and real fast.

i have her brother, he weighs 72 lbs, fast and super gritty.  he is strait bmc and only catch. the brother is very friendly.

the gyps parents were both working dogs. mother was bay. father was real gritty and catch.

they should make some big, fast, and possibly real gritty pups.

Well i don't want a pup becuase i actually raise purebred boxers myself, but what i have to say may help you determine if you want to breed them..  I have a 12 week old 1/2 plot 1/2 bmc and i went and got about a 30 lbs pig to train him with.  He was interested from day one, but i wanted more out of him.  Well one day the pig got out of my pen and so i let the pup out and just for laughs i let my 4 year old female boxer out of the yard.  she had never seen a pig before, and no kidding her and that pup with that pig having at least  50 yard head start she stopped him, they bayed together, and then she caught that pig, and would not let go.  granted its not that big of a pig, but she was all out 100%.  Ever since then i have been using her to train my friends dogs as well as mine.  She is a solid hog (pen) dog and i never spent one minute training her before that day.  I don't want to take her out into the woods becuase i sell her pups for $400 now so can't chance her getting killed.  i am seriously considering breeding her to my plot/bmc pup when the time comes.  all my friend laughed at me until they saw her work now that all want pups.   So this is a very long way of saying i would do it if i were you.
