Title: 44 mag or 41 mag Post by: sixgunjake on August 10, 2009, 12:27:05 pm i own a ruger black hawk in 41 mag and a super black hawk 44 mag. i prefer the lighter frame of the 41 but i am wondering if it has the stopping power of the 44 in a close quaters situation wen it counts

The .41 is a lot harder to find ammo for, but I dont think the .44 will give you that much more performance if everything else is equal. The 44 does offer a wider range of factory loads to choose from so this may be where the advantage lies.
