Title: Dog box help needed.
Post by: cantexduck on March 10, 2008, 07:48:07 pm
I am going to have a guy work on a new box for me this week. The size I came up with is 4' across,30'' tall and 30'' deep. It will be a two hole box.
Also I was going to use 1''x1'' angle for the frame and some 1in flat stock for supports. Am I on the right track?

Went another route and got 1.5x1.5 angle for the frame and 1x1 angle for the doors and supports today.

I plan on being able to put two dogs in each hole. 2'x2'6'' seems big enough, right?

My dog box is 4'x4'x32" the compartments are 2'x4'x26"tall I have a rail 6" high around the top to haul icechest or what ever else needs to be tied down. I can hual 3 dogs in each side but have put as many as 5 on each side. I used 1'x1' angle to fram the box and doors covered with expanded metal and 3/4 treated plywood for the top i used 1/2 slick rod for my top rail. just my .02

One in my yota is 4'6"x2'x2' and is two boxes. I can put two 60-75 pound dogs in one comfortably
