Title: possible broke leg?
Post by: Texashog26 on November 04, 2013, 12:27:38 pm
Well my problem child "Bella" has got it again. 8 months old, survived parvo, had the artery in her neck pulled out, and after she healed got hit on the other side. Took em last night and I'm pretty sure she has a broken leg. It's a alittle swollen and she won't put weight on it. Can't really feel anything loose and it doesn't look out of place. What yall think? I'll post a pic if it'll help at all

Swelling and non weight bearing suggest broken leg. Either way, with that kind of injury, vet is a good idea to have a quick x-ray done, and have it set if you want this dog's leg to heal properly....

Swelling and non weight bearing suggest broken leg.

also could suggest a sprained joint or torn tendon/ligament.

but yea an x-ray will tell what is it if its visible. I had a dog brake his leg and you could tell it was broke. the leg was broke in 2 places and took pinning and screws to get him fixed and he still doesn't put much weight on it unless he is running. I will ask the wife when she gets hm if she knows where the x-ray disc is and post a pic of his leg. I could hear the bones scraping against each other as he/I moved it around. this happened on a sat, sun got the x-ray, mon put him for surgery, tue and $1500 later I picked him up
