Title: Re: dog walkers Post by: hoghunter71409 on November 26, 2013, 05:41:58 pm I don't but I know a couple guys that do. I am in the market for a horse walker. I'm sold on the idea and I want to use one also. I can only hunt a couple days a week and I don't have time to road dogs or run them during the week for exercise, Horse walker seems to be the way to go.
Title: Re: dog walkers Post by: Cajun on November 26, 2013, 06:58:02 pm Make sure you use a harness on them if you cant supervise them. I had some dogs on one & after about 10 minutes a gyp started to pull back & was letting the walker drag her. If I had not been there she would have choked to death.

It is not driven and very similar to the plans shown. I just put a trailer spindle at the top and made an arm supported by guy wire. He's gonna cement a base in and the jenny slips on the base. Just gotta have a motivated dog now. A horse hot walker would better do it for curs where you need to do more than 1.

might be something to get some ideas from, walf a 100 plus pound lamb should keep a dog moving just fine. |
