It was good watching. May just be me, but the competition seems tighter this year. Pretty consitant  performances all the way around.

lol yea.  Seems to me during the team roping they had some pretty good sized wide bodied steers than the past years.  Made for some tough work and kinda sorted the playing field good on the first round.

Next year I'm gonna be there. At least for the mid-week rounds. Those tickets are still pretty reasonable. Then buzz home to watch the last nite.

Calf roping is getting interesting, it's 3 one headers left.  Hanchee, is in drivers seat, Cody Ohl is on a mission at 40, Trevor is the champ if they bobble.

Cody is on fire! He has the srena record at 6.5 seconds and he would have broke it last night if his calf would've been on his feet when he got there.

Nothing wrong with those steers. They are the typical type most rope and practice on down here in my area. The Headers just need to rope and do their job. Take an extra swing or two and place. Above all have fun. I think they are all trying to get the arena record LOL instead of catching and letting their heelers do their part.

i sure hope the rookie barrel racer win the truck ,Cervi is going to have to hit a barrel for her to catch her ..but if she continues at that pace should win the truck .. she has broken the record by .09

Can someone point me in the right direction for finding tickets for next year? I have been searching the last 3 or 4 days, but have not found anyone that is selling them yet. I just assume after Way Out West reply to this thread they are. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

We went on line last year after the NFR and saw packages from diff casino's. I sure don't remember any  particular site but I may have just googled NFR tickets.

Jw had a hell of a year this year. Congrats to him

Cody teal made a hell of a nfr check. 8 out of 10 bulls rode, cant get much better than that.

Justin, Randall Carlisle in the calf roping is originally from kinda around you also. When we built the vet clinic in Buna back in the late 80's, his dad was coaching basketball somewhere down your way, I believe it was Kountze. He was also a calf roper, and brought his horses up there to get worked on. We had a horse from Mr. Randy when I was trying to be a calf roper( massive failure). He was still roping calves when I started going to amateur rodeos my senior year.   They moved to LA sometime after I left Buna in '92. My family sold the clinic there in around '93 or '94, so I don know exactly when the Carlisle's left.

I'll be, can't say that I knew that, thanks for sharing.......and i gotta laugh about the calf roping comment, sorry haha but im with you on that, i've been a cowboy.....in my dreams and im not even any good in em lol. In all seriousness though i enjoy being around and working with/ huntin off horses but thats about as cowboy as i get however i enjoy watching the real cowboys work. it is a culture/lifestyle that i think is slowly fading away and i would love to see it make a turnaround and re-emerge. I know around here that 10-15yrs ago there were far more rodeo events going on then there are now days, kinda sad.
