Title: Southern cross cut gear
Post by: woody13 on December 11, 2013, 08:21:41 am
Is southern cross still around? Their website isn't working, we run their gear in the past and always liked it, I got out of hunting but now I've got 2 dogs and needing some vests and collars. Anyone know where I can order some at?

They are still around but under new ownership. The new Southern cross vests are junk.

I met the guy that started them way back when a month or so ago, and he was telling me how he sold it off to Dustin, bought it back then sold it off again.  When I told him my opinion of the stuff now he didn't disagree with me, and said the new guy is trying to get it back to what it was.

For what its worth, I live where this stuff is made.  That's all you see at the feed stores and I wont buy it.  Just my .02

Rd where are you from? I'm from Lakeland, just moved to georgia. Thanks for letting me know about the new "quality" . Looks like I'll be ordering from ugly dog then.

Ft Myers, Florida.  It was made in North Ft Myers, Florida which is right across the river.  Not sure where its being made now.  But if you wanted to get some you could call the Labelle Ranch Supply store which is one county over.  I know they had it last time I was there, but again quality went WAY down hill.

Called swampdawg yesterday and talked to them about the new game changer vests, I really like how they make them up, so I'm gonna order 2 vest next week. Has anyone bought the game changer yet?

Southern Cross is most certainly still around. We have relocated and are undergoing a complete re-vamp though. New site, logo, customer service, advertising, etc.  Right now we are only processing orders from wholesalers, but will be up and fully operational after the first of the year.

As far as quality goes our design remains true to its original time tested and battle proven pattern however there will be an added emphasis on prompt shipping and quality control which was lacking under previous management. Our warranty also remains one of the best in the business with a lifetime replacement guarantee against any manufacturing defects.

For any other information please PM me.
Thanks
Dave

i liked southern cross, and still have a bunch of it. Thing is, the business keeps getting bumped around like a cull dog going from owner to owner.

I would compare it more to a super star caliber dog that hunts its ass off no matter who is holding the lead.   However, now, with some good feed and a little wormer it will reach its full potential. Southern Cross is in its permanent home and will be taken to a level it has never seen before.  Watch it in 2014....  ;-)

We will be introducing several new options and also bringing back some of the old proven designs over this next year.  We also strongly appreciate customer feed back.  If you had a vest you liked or didn't like please give me a call (706-254-6087) or shoot me an email (southerncrosscutgear@yahoo.com).  Our goal is to make the absolutely best product possible for the serious hog dogger and customer feedback can be a valuable tool in the design process.
