Title: ......bad month to be a dog....
Post by: justincorbell on December 22, 2013, 10:28:41 pm
I just read a thread on another forum, texasbowhunter, about another dog being shot by a guy poaching on a hunting ranch...... This was a tracking dog in the middle of working a trail on private property, they apparently were called in to track the animal and as the dog was working the track a poacher shot and killed her.

Bad bad deal!

A lot of deer hunters think when they see a dog coming through their field that's the reason their not seeing any deer but the reason is mainly because they have been riding their four wheelers through there all day and driving within 20 yards to their shooting house. We have a lot of out of town deer hunters over here and 90% of them act like they are high class better than you people when you meet them on the road or in the store I don't have a lot of respect for them at all.

I think a lot of deer hunters could benefit from hunting deer with dogs and seeing what deer actually do when dogs are running. I believe they would find that dogs are not near as detrimental to their hunt as they believe. The worst part about this instance was it was a poacher. I wouldn't be suprised if it wasn't actually a poacher but a paying member or guest.
