What do y'all think about an old English bulldog for a catch dog?

Not much lung and leg on them if it's the ones I am thinking of.

I believe they make great guard dogs. They're an improved English Bulldog but they are not gonna have the natural athletism to keep them out of danger compared to a pit or Standard American Bulldog. Even a Johnson American Bulldog may not be a good choice for an all purpose catch dog.

If you're not running in heat, or sending them in from long distances.....
