Title: One critical key to a more enjoyable hunt!
Post by: LAhogger84 on February 14, 2014, 01:49:42 pm
MARRIED MEN AND WOMEN or non single people. Keep the significant other happy! For instance I'm scrubbing toilets, sweeping, moping and even dusted! Tomorrow when I'm hunting and I been gone toooo long when I text and say the dogs have been gone for 2 hours on a hog and there's no end n sight. I'm more prone to get a text back saying-ok have fun! And a more happy wife when I get home. Vs a text saying-you should have been home a hour ago. And a grumpy wife when I get home! Makes for a long day. You know where I'm coming from.  Taking her out tonight too but that's for v-day. No sir I ain't whooped just thoughtful I reckon.

you are going at it all wrong! Just get her into it then she will be the one chomping at the bit to go hunting and forget about all of that boring housework til she's at home again during the week and you are at work!   :o

Works for me  ;D

HAPPY WIFE = HAPPY HOG HUNTING LIFE/CAREER!

I refuse to brag on dogs, horses, or women, they make liars out of you way to quick.  I will say mine has learned when I go hunting, I go to hunt, and may not be home anytime soon, especially with some of the guys I hunt with, cuz they don't like to quit until something is tied.  It never fails though, when I get a text that says "Try not to stay out all day", dogs scatter, hogs come out with nikes on, and we end up dog hunting more then hog hunting.  It's a give and take relationship, and I'm pretty happy with mine, cuz I'm ALLOWED to hunt quite a bit.

You can always have a buddy stretch the truth some and tell her that you have really good dogs, and the only way they can catch hogs is with your dogs. It's a play on their sympathy side  ;D

Exactly lol. Guess what me and my fiance are doing this afternoon and tonight even on Valentines. Going huntin lol. I got her her own dog (That I still feed and take care of) and she fell in love with hunting. She gets mad when I go without her haha. Only thing, is "her dog" always has to go if she is going, but "her dog" has turned out to be pretty dang good so I'm not complaining.

Mine doesn't have her own dog per say but she buys feed when we need it, takes em to the vet when they need to go and feeds and waters em when i'm stuck at work so in a way I reckon they are all hers, I just hunt em  ;D(she is a stay at home mom)

An ol hunting buddy of mine that's a lot older than me says "son you better use them brownie points as quick as u get em because you can try and save em up and one lil mishap and they are all gone". I thank GOD for my wife cause she don't fuss about me hunting. But We have a 9 yo daughter that loves hunting these dogs and is as good of a hand with a horse and dogs as most grown men so my wife sees it as us spending time together. Good hunting fellas

Mine will occasionally go but just because she wants to spend a day with me. She knows if it is not deer or turkey season where I will be on any off day I have not to make us any plans because I have made mine for the year lol she don't mind as I was doing this before we ever met. But she knows if she does it's not going to be a quick hunt because she is ready to go home we hunt til it's over then come home she just has to be tuff and stick it out

My wife deer hunts. She don't care nothing bout going hog hunting with me. She'd prolly stick thru it if she went with me. She's been before.
