Title: Re: baiting traps Post by: southtexasff on September 06, 2009, 04:41:47 pm I finally caught one!! After getting out smarted 2 days in a row I finally won. First day setting ther trap they ate all the way up to the trap but didn't set foot in. Next day caught one but it dug out. So I went and put the bottom in the trap and what do you know caught this little one, probably about 80 or 90 lbs. Worked the bulldogs pups on it. I just baited it with some corn and some fruit punch kool-aide. Cheaper than the hog wild.

If you keep the corn out of the door you will generally catch more hogs at one time.

Title: Re: baiting traps Post by: rafterfpuncher on September 27, 2009, 06:27:52 pm the corn and fruit punch koolaid is one of the best trap baits you can use, if it quits after a few weeks, put a gallon of milk on top of your trap with holes poked in the jug just above the level of the milk, as it ferments and curdles, it will rise in the jug and seep out the holes, works very good.
Title: Re: baiting traps Post by: TrapperT on January 18, 2010, 10:15:09 pm Ive always had real good luck with corn soaked in kool aid its cheap and easy , and listen im not telling what to do but here is some advice build a bigger trap , if you build a trap that is big and open then its just like going trew a fence to them and with the big trap you need to rig up a short trip wire that way more hogs will come in and eat and then one will mill around and hit the trip wire and bang you caught a whole mess of bacon ..... Hope this helps . let me know TROY

Title: Re: baiting traps Post by: hogbuyer on March 13, 2010, 08:03:41 pm I have trapped who noes how many pigs different times ask for different methods of bait number one being dry corn summer time being soaked corn. Just one key thing to remeber were ever u set one trap set two in the same spot, I will bet my left nut you will catch a pig in both trapps. trust me I run 21 traps every day.
