She bought the dog for him as a present, took the dog when they split. A buddy of mine talked to the previous owner (the guy) and said he would buy the dog for him if he wanted him. Unfortunately he doesn't have time to hunt him, so he said he was better off in a hunting home.

When I turned 16 my mom bought me 6 wk old red nose pit I named "xena". I had her up until this last year when age got to her. I turned 26 in January and she passed not long after that. I say yesterday, today, and will say tomorrow she was the best girlfriend I ever had or will have. I've cussed and kicked her more times than I could count. I brought another woman into my house and kicked her outta our bed. Had the nerve to marry and then have a kid who is easily now one of the meanest 3 yr old boys I know, and on top of that I occasionally made her sleep outside. After 10 yrs ol' xena never let me down. Happy as all get out every time I showed my ugly face to her. Tail waggin and happy after all I put her threw. Well I say if I do 1 of the things I did to xena to my wife who is also awesome, she would be GONE!! Funny stuff everybody... I made the statement to a person the other day about how serious dog hunters are about their dogs, and this was the main reason I don't have many hunting buddies. I turn loose to hear the dogs run. I love a good race. If they lose it, quit it, tree it, or catch it on the ground I'm still having fun. If they caught one everytime I turned them loose, well, it wouldnt take long and I'd have nothing to run. I admire you guys that try and make a legitimate side business out of the hunting dog world. I completely understand that if Halfbreed sells me a pup for 300$, plus shipping, it is a fraction of what has gone into producing a pup that will get excited and chase game if given the opportunity. Seems like everytime I get around other dog hunters, I'm asking myself why this person is in perpetual defense of every little move their dog is making. It's subtle, but it's there.
