Title: Competition bay pen? Post by: Demondoggers on June 27, 2014, 01:06:24 pm I'm building a bay pen and would like to know the prefered size of most competition pens and any other pointers to building it.

60ft diameter is the minimum I'd build. Need an entrance chute that has 2 to 3 sections (chutes)....behind that a separation pen or two...those pens lead to your main holding pen. You'll also need an exit chute/pen...preferably not much bigger than a big boar...don't want a dog to want to get in there with the pig. That exit chute should be attached to one of the separation pens. Just an idea anyway ;D Title: Re: Competition bay pen? Post by: charles on June 27, 2014, 09:17:46 pm Good input Kevin. On an add on, visit a couple bay comps and take a look at how they have their set up and if they differ a good bit from ea other, take the best of all them and build off that, plus what Kevin said.
