Title: Re: hunt Post by: matt_aggie04 on September 15, 2009, 11:58:14 am I have tried to watch the moon phase for several years now not to judge when to hunt but to see what phase it is in while were moving vs bedded. About 4 years ago I noticed that if I wanted to improve my odds if the moon was coming up late and would still out full in the morning then I would make a morning hunt and when the moon would rise early I would make an evening hunt. I used this for deer and hogs and noticed that there is at least some truth to it. There are other factors too though that I think play as imortant a role like cloud cover, wind, rain, and low/high pressure areas. I would say my optimal time to hunt is a crisp cool morning with a late rising moon that is still out and bright as the sun is coming up with a good high pressure system that is giving me about 5-10 mph breeze always seems to be good recipe for success.
