Title: dont understand... Post by: Canyonranch on September 09, 2014, 11:58:37 am I don't understand people buying dogs when they get something different from want the seller says the dog was, they want to crap and complain about it like its the seller fault and only the seller fault. well I beg the different. I don't trust people as far as I can throw them so there I don't take no ones word but a handful of people. So what i'm trying to get at is when the buyer is wanting to buy a dog (if you don't know the guy) instead of taking the sellers word for it why not ask the guy to show the dog hunt or watch him catch to make sure the seller is telling the truth and no one gets screwed over.If the seller tells you he ain't got time or he wants to do a trial on him whatever the situation is that should be a Red flag already.
to me trial hunts are good in one way if you know the guy and know that he will honor his word and take the dogs back if the buyer don't like the dog but I see it all the time when people do a trial and the seller don't answer his phone or you have no idea on where he lives etc and you get screw and now your struck with a dog that don't have a clue on whats going on... Title: Re: dont understand... Post by: Judge peel on September 09, 2014, 01:19:55 pm Lol mr whitten that is the truth. Kinda like smoking every one that smokes knows it is killing them yet they do it. It is not the sellers fault if you get ripped off in no form or fashion it is your own. Go buy a used car drive it for 3 months and try to take it back cuz the motor stopped they will tell you to get lost jmo

Welcome to the jungle Title: Re: dont understand... Post by: ED BARNES on September 09, 2014, 04:23:49 pm Biggest mistake besides not seeing the dog in the woods is talking! don't talk, listen. (this advice works on most things in life) You call Joe Blow and tell him your looking for a dog. "What are you looking for?" well, i want a dog that does 500yd circles, checks in, bays loose, named charlie... "Man i got the dog for you!" ask him what he has BEFORE he knows what you want. But as with most things in life, people dont want to work, and i venture to say poundin the pavement looking for the dog you want is more work than hittin the woods and MAKING the dog you want...

Title: Re: dont understand... Post by: charles on September 09, 2014, 06:28:15 pm Not everybody has the time/land to build a dog exactly the way they want it. So doing research and getting a dog close to their liking, then a lil tweeking to get the dog where they want them is easier sometimes, and not bc they r lazy. But there r those that r lazy that do ruin it for the few. Another thing that would help is, IF the buyer would b honest in their post, AND the potential buyer would actually read the entire post before asking the exact same ?s that were answered in the post to begin with.

I learned that one years ago and that got be to breeding my own every chance I get... I asked for a pup that would be about 55 pounds when grown with a decent ear length and by golly that is exactly what they had for sale...I ordered the pup and a year later that pup weighed about 25 pounds with a short ear...and didn't hunt the way I liked... An honest man will give u a list of faults that is as long if not longer than the pluses.
