Title: another good hill country boar Post by: txmaverick on September 17, 2009, 04:44:58 pm Jesse aka Lionandboarhunter and I went last night and got this boar, had several very interesting things happen during the hunt I'll let Jesse tell those (if he wants to).
He weighed 308, with a cutter that was 4 inches long and 3 inches at base, grinder was 5 inches long and 4.5 at base. Notice i said cutter and grinder not cutters or grinders.............that is because he didnt have anything on the other side he still would have scored 511 WWT sure wish he had something on the other side anything would have helped. Jesse did some fine John Wayne from the hip shooting with my 44 to kill him, the first shot all but blew his ear off at his skull without even makin him flinch the second shot under the eye 4 inches off the end of the 44 droped him in his tracks. Title: Re: another good hill country boar Post by: txmaverick on September 17, 2009, 07:52:51 pm when we first started we drove up to a feeder and the dogs went out in the brush hunting; we heard some noise and I turned the lights back on, there was an oryx bull headed straight at the 6x6 the dogs kind of following like they wanted to see what he was up to, i guess he was blinded when i hit the lights and we thought he was going to come over the handlebars with me and on top with jesse before he stoped.
after we killed that boar jesse found a 4 rattler under his drivers side door waitin for him. the trio of; boar, snake, oryx made for an interesting night to say the least, i know i needed some extra underwear by the time the night was over Title: Re: another good hill country boar Post by: LionandBoarHunter on September 17, 2009, 08:12:39 pm an earlier that day i had a run in about six javelinas they came at me popping there teeth i put my foot in the fork of a oak tree an pulled my self up an they were standing about two feet from me not so kewl.
