Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: RyanTBH on December 07, 2014, 10:05:24 pm We just picked up a half sister to my PJ gyp (Amerigo), and we're thinking about crossing her over a game bred APBT. How's he bred? And is he a seasoned CD?
Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: Judge peel on December 08, 2014, 06:54:31 am I know nothing of his breeding might be good might not but you can look at his build and tell he came from good stock. Now being a proven dog means different things to different people. Ask ole Robert Mccurry he has seen him in action or just look at my post in the dogs on hogs most of the pigs I have caught in the last yr and half he caught. Every time I let him go I have no worries about what he can do.

Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: WayOutWest on December 08, 2014, 11:40:44 am For catch dogs in my opinion it is more important in how they do there jobs than how they are bred. And this comes from a guy who can trace his peds back 15 or 20 generations. A pretty ped on an APBT just doesn't have much to do with how good a catchdog it is. It can tell you some things about the dog but a lot it can't. This dog definitely has the correct build to be well bred and apparently can do the job. Good luck with him Judge.

Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: Judge peel on December 12, 2014, 08:55:53 am I got him on a trade from a buddy of mine down south I think he was a rescue pup or something but some one must of had him as a house pet cuz I have put very little effort to get him where he is
Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: Judge peel on December 12, 2014, 08:57:25 am The way he catches more than likely saved his life I got him he had been 4 or 5 pigs and was bout 10 months old

Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: Judge peel on December 12, 2014, 06:03:38 pm Well as a try for breeding my dog I found out where he came from and what dogs he came from. This was a good day for me I am very happy at the moment. Sandbank slayer posted a pic and as it turns out it's the same dog. We talked on the phone for 45 min and every thing lined up. I can tell y'all this if his dogs are this caliber of dogs he has been doing it right hats off to him and seemed to be a nice young man
Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: TheRednose on December 12, 2014, 11:38:28 pm I like when you post pics of that guy Judge, he sure is put together. You have him looking nice and right. I am glad you found out about his background. Now maybe you can find something down from the same line to breed him to.
Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: Judge peel on December 13, 2014, 05:25:17 am Yes sir red nose that's what I want to do Mitch showed me a pic of his daddy and you can see why he looks so good. But conditioning and knowledge of the breed helps them get to there full potential
Title: Re: Gyp cd to breed to mine Post by: sandbank slayer on December 13, 2014, 01:35:23 pm Ya judge, made my day to find out that you think so highly of him. Couldn't have asked for him to end up in a better place. Surely glad he turned out to be the type of dog he has become. Been seeing you lost them pics of him and always thought he might be our "red neck". When I seen that last picture you posted and looked through my phone and found the last 1 I took of him before he left, I knew it was him. Really makes us happy to know we may be doing a couple things right around our neck of the woods.
