Title: Need some help!
Post by: RBz_OFFROAD on January 11, 2015, 05:39:59 pm
I have a cut gyp that's prolly 5 years old.   I haven't hunted her in about 2 months. Yesterday I took her out to hunt and when I turned her out I could see she was low or down in her front end. I picked her back up and looks as if she's walking with her shoulders out of place.   I check for ticks and stuff and didn't see any.   Anyone ever have this same problem?  Any help would be appreciated!

Yes have had it happen to a dog that got hit in the shoulder. He never was the same again. His shoulder would go out after being  run for a couple hours.

I just had it done to one of mine when she run her shoulder would swing out and I have been hunting her like that for about 2 months and it is perfectly fine now my uncle said cuz them muscles have to get back to full strength before it can hold it back all in place but I built her up really slow letting her bay at home tell she was tired then takin her to the woods tell she was tired then put her up like therapy an she just a hair slower then she was but travels like the others now

I have a gyp doing the exact same thing, im really hoping she heals up because she is/was one of the better dogs i have hunted behind but she was not hunted much this past year so im really hoping she just needs to rebuild her muscles in her front end. I have seen dogs go down due to their rear end giving out but never due to the front shoulders.....im sure hopin she gets better
