Title: Hog loader Post by: Purebreedcolt on January 14, 2015, 08:22:45 am Been thinking on this for a while but wanting to build something that goes into reciever hitch to lift and load bigger hogs. Most of the time it is just my wife and I and it sure would be easier to load them if we had something to winch them to the back of the truck. Any ideas
Title: Re: Hog loader Post by: charles on January 14, 2015, 08:49:29 am There is sqr tubing rcvr hitch skinning pole with a hand crank boat winch. U could make it swivel mid way up from the rcvr so it will swing over into the bed. A cross between a skining rack and 1 of them inbed handicap cranes

The designs are simple and along with a boat wench and a snatch block the biggest hog could be lifted and swung into the truck. The only other options I would try consist of hydraulic booms and pumps.

Worked great. Just dropped it down into some round pipe so it would swivel on its own.

When you put it together you pin the piece that goes into the hitch to the piece with the winch. I have never used that pin, I pick the animals straight out of the bed of the truck. spin it around and get to work. If that makes any sense.
