Title: ATF ban on certain 5.56 ammo
Post by: charles on February 16, 2015, 08:52:13 pm
Apparently the ATF and fed gov have screwed the U.S. citizens over enough, they are proposing to change the definition of AP ammo, plus these firearms manufactures got around the SBR rule by making sbrs into pistols and classify the "new" weapon as a pistol. So thanks to them and the 1% of the criminals and the criminalizes federal government, the commonly used green tip 5.56 ammo (green tip indicates a lil bitty piece of steel in front of the lead core) is now being considered as armor piercing. Maybe the feds should look at how they treat the citizens and our constitution. Then ammo wouldn't need to be regulated and reclassified.

Its about the feds slowly doing an end run around the 2nd amendment. If they cant take the guns, they make the ammo unavailable.
Get ready for an attack on lead filled (what EVERY bullet except the ap, which alsohas in it) if the bill in cali gets passed. There wasnt a big article bout it, just a small exert, saying that cali is pushing for a ban on lead bullets for all forms of hunting and sports shooting.
So if steel core ammo is no longer legal and they ban lead filled bullets, what are the shooters of cali gonna shoot? And, as usual, when cali bans lead ammo, how long will it be before the goons in dc do the same nation wide.

Here is the link to the proposal.
http://www.atf.gov/sites/default/files/assets/Library/Notices/atf_framework_for_determining_whether_certain_projectiles_are_primarily_intended_for_sporting_purposes.pdf

I just got the link sent to me, so i havent read it in its entirety. Once i get done reading it, im gonna attempt to call the atf and voice my oposition to the ban. After the call, im gonna email my senators n hope they help too.
I know its not a dog owning/hunting ban and its a long shot and good chance most will say who cares, but i ask that you folks do the same and voice you oposition for the ban. Again, this is just another step towards banning ammo once cali bans all lead ammo.

Well it seems as of now, the atf and that government housing recipient wasnt able to ban the 855 ammo or any fmj 5.56/223 ammo. There was enough of an outroar from the public to the atf and the whitehouse chimp that the ammo is back on shelves and back in stock with some distributors. I guess their attempt to rewrite the law went over like a fart in church. Hopefully it led to remarketing and redusgn on the ar pistols and hopefully a higher criminal charge for those caught with that "ap" ammo in them ar pistols. The police have a hard job and dont need some jack waggon loaded down with ap ammo in a very consealable high ammo volume firearm shooting at or shooting them.

IF any of yaw sent in an email to the atf and or ur elected officials, thank you. Now its time to do the same for that federal police force in ft worth. The people of tx do not need anymore federal level intrusion or a bigger foothold in this state. We need to get on the horn/wire and ask the govenor and the state officials to put pressure on dhs/fbi/atf or whoever is heading this taskforce up and tell them to get out of our state

The NRA has been on top of it...they keep me informed and send me names, email addresses and phone numbers on who to call and just giving updates on what is happening...

We'll be it the help of the nra, individuals, ammo manufactures and or elected officials helping squash the illegal ban, it was stopped as of now. I'm sure the crooked atf and that village idiot leader of this used to be free country will try it again.

At first they were specific on the 5.56...they backed off but they are now trying a new angle which is wording that says any projectile that can penetrate a bullet proof vest...that could cover a lot of ammo...

ANY high powered hunting ammo will punch a vest. They cant take the sec amendment away, so they take the ammo away.
