Title: That feeling...
Post by: TShelly on June 30, 2015, 09:06:46 am
... You get when you have 6 different Barrs on camera and 4 boar hogs all carrying some serious weight... But the place is too small to hog hunt with the dogs

Those are some good hogs... But this post sets me up to pose the question. How small is too small? I know it depends on the dogs range. But say 6-800 yard dogs. Would do you think is too small?

Some nice hogs right there. I have hunted spots as small as 200 acres but you best know what's around and have dogs that just catch

I have a 30' automated trap that don't discriminate on land size. It just isn't as much fun as catching them with dogs.

Never to small of a property to catch a hog. If I needed the meat bad enough, I'd walk one of my cur dogs into the wind right up to them(50yds or so). Turn loose and catch a hog. If the dog missed and they went to runnin, I call my dog off and try again the next night. Lot of good eatin right there. :)

Sounds like a good bow hunting or trapping opportunity! Not quite as fun as Doggin them but dam good alternatives!
