Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: Not color blind on July 28, 2015, 11:01:42 pm Parrot mouthed means having a severe over bite
Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: YELLOWBLACKMASK on July 29, 2015, 12:13:59 am No sir never have.
Would be looking heavy at the line for long term Line or inbreeding that wasn't managed properly Hereditary issues Trauma or aggressive Meds that the dam was exposed to during pregnancy. When skeletons like that show up.......better put em back in the grave and find out what dug em up......fast! Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: TazD on July 29, 2015, 05:52:13 am Parrot mouthed or extreme over bite is a genetic fault! Cull! There are well built good dogs in all breeds, no reason to settle for anything less! Does not mean they will not hunt, just poor genetics!
Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: Not color blind on July 29, 2015, 10:52:59 am These dogs originated down round Liberty, Hardin area. They don't belong to me, I was visiting this mans yard and noticed quite a bit of it, they will flat out hunt and work. Ges he just screwd them down a litle to tite!!

Smaller body size, hock legged, rear hip deformity, clubbed footed, coyote wild acting......all starts to appear when brother loves on sister a lil to long. ;D Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: l.h.cracker on July 29, 2015, 03:07:49 pm Yep and them dogs would stay in that yard.

it's when the hocks are close to or are bumping . they MIGHT BE O.K TO USE but i wouldn't want any pups out of them , and i damn sure wouldn't buy any pups like that . Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: Crossstock on July 30, 2015, 12:31:11 pm No need to cull a dog for parrot mouth just get him fixed or don't breed him.... Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: Sambo5500 on July 30, 2015, 01:16:03 pm How's it going cross stock? Seen any of my redwine kin folk lately? Had my son 2 weeks ago so hopefully gonna go up there soon to visit. Maybe do some hunting with TC. Also I'm with you on just not breeding it or getting it fixed if it hunts and does well.
Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: Crossstock on July 30, 2015, 08:02:42 pm Hell things are going good.... Plenty of hogs to get in TC's fields...I'm sure if it's not to hot when your down we will be hunting
Title: Re: Parrot mouthed blackmouths Post by: Georgia-Hawgs on July 31, 2015, 08:27:16 am I had a dog that had a real bad over bite. He would find hogs. The problem was that he would always try to catch, and he couldn't keep ahold. He would push the hog further than I liked by tying to catch him and not being able to. It would take a hog whipping his butt real good to make him start barking.
