Is this carbon steel made for knives? Back a few years ago a friend and myself were making long knives out of some S7 material. It was stock made for impact drill bits. If you hit the temper right you would get some amazing #'s on the Rockwell and still have good ductility. Stayed sharp for a long while, but was a biatch to sharpen till we got the right diamond wheels.
