Title: Good three hog in two hour morning working pups.
Post by: RyanTBH on August 22, 2015, 06:06:11 pm
Got up early this morning and met up with the crew. Dallas, Jeff, David, Ben, Blake and I. Ben brought a buddy that hasn't gotten to hunt with dogs yet named John. We had Zig, Zip, Pistol, JR, Red, Lady, Bill, Wyatt, Kid (CD), PJ (CD), and Domino (CD). Lots of dogs! Anyways, get to the spot around 6. Drop the dogs. All get the chits and pisses out, and are on their way. Bout 20mins in, we hear a yip from Red and all the dogs started heading that way. Red opened up... Then Zig and her caught along with Wyatt and JR. We heard the squeal, cut the CDs loose and caught, tied hog, boom. Dave and Dallas polled the hog out, loaded it up, took it to the pen, and came back to the hunt. During this, Lady goes and runs off by her self, and gets bayed up. No body could hear her, and we were all pretty separated at this point. I was by myself with PJ and noticed that Lady wasn't moving, pretty much making circles around 600yrds in. This went on about 15mins, so I decided to head to her with PJ. John walked out of the brush just in time, so he got enlisted. ;D We eased on in to her and couldn't hear her until we got within 250. She was in a gully. Cut PJ loose from 85yrds, and we went in and did a little tango with the boar hog, dispatched him and rolled out. Never saw Lady, soon as PJ caught she rolled out I guess. Soon as I lead PJ up  and head out Blake sends me a pic of him and JR. They said JR went in 50yrds from where they were standing about 550yrds away from us and struck and caught out. Lol Three hogs and with one tied and in the pen in about 2hours. That'll do for me any day! We go back to the truck thinking all the dogs were with us just close, but Lady and Wyatt had other plans. They went out 900yrds and weren't done hunting. Ended up getting them back last around 1030am. Great morning guys! Couldn't be happier with all the dogs' work today. ;D God bless Texas!
