She acted like she had been spinning in circles and real dizzy. Got to where she realy couldnt even walk. I ended up puttin her down cuz neither one of us had money for any serious vet action. Hope thats not the case for you bud.

Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: liefalwepon on August 25, 2015, 10:41:04 am ok seriously, dogs do that when theyve eaten compost, its from the fungus that grows on old food. You could give it some activated charcoal if you think it ate something bad. My friend had a puppy that had parvo and an old indian man told him to give it tobacco, he took some chewing tobacco and made a small wad and made the pup swallow it and that puppy got better, he said it was remarkable.
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: Georgia-Hawgs on August 25, 2015, 11:02:28 am My bulldog will knock a beer over on purpose and drink every bit of it as fast as he can. I hope you get it worked out though , i would hate to see a pup like that.
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: bigthickethogdogs on August 25, 2015, 02:28:38 pm man I hope its not parvo
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: oconee on August 25, 2015, 04:24:40 pm Its an ear infection. Take it to vet and get antiboitics.
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: hoghunter71409 on August 25, 2015, 04:29:05 pm I would go with Oconee. Ear infection causes equilibrium to be off and causes problems with balance. It if was Parvo there would be many other major symptoms like high body heat, starvation, lethargic..and the pup will be dead in a couple days.
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: hillbilly on August 25, 2015, 06:35:10 pm Ticks will do it to a grown dog
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: jwdeltx on August 25, 2015, 10:40:37 pm Ear mites will cause the same thing !!!

Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: swine dogger on August 26, 2015, 03:30:29 pm Man I don't want to be negative but it kinda sounds like parvo we had 6 pups acting the same way.

Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: txdogos on August 26, 2015, 05:47:30 pm if it was parvo there would be bloody nasty smelling poop, diarrhea.
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: 7Mhunter on August 26, 2015, 10:29:37 pm My puppy done this a few months back. Even came to hitting her jaw on the floor everytime she walked. Ended up being Alpo can dog food. But only the chicken kind. Have had several do it. But they told me that 90% of dogs with seziure like stuff is low blood sugar. I had a cur dog that was diabetic. Every time his sugar would get low he would go into seziures.
Title: Re: PUPPY ACTING DRUNK Post by: lettmroll on August 27, 2015, 06:48:26 am If the pup is eating and drinking then you can rule out parvo, I would start him on antibiotics, change his feed make sure he has good clean water and maybe even keep him in the utility room a couple days were its cool and dry.
