I was wondering what's the best technique for castrating boars when hunting alone. Seems sketchy but I know there's guys out there doing it. I bet those rodeo calf ropers could do it easily.  Is it easier to use hobbles or hand cuffs or rope? When you let them loose do they usually run or might they try and jack your dogs up if the were tied up near by? I don't know anyone who barrs hogs out here

Dontt matter how you tie/hobble the hog but get the dogs to a secure place because the barr will want revenge.we cut them often at the back of our buggy and jump up on the deck for our saftey..seen many hogs attack our tires.

Put some duct tape over their eyes, untie them and haul ass haha.

Just tie the hog up cut him turn him loose and look for a tree. I have seen them go after dogs, people and 4 wheelers. Sometimes they just run the other way.

It gets real hairy in a short pine thicket where you crawled in to catch him and there ain't a tree big enough to hold you...it's time to cut and run  ;D

I tie the hog clip dogs to the trees go get the truck or what ever then come load the dogs then drag him to were it betters my get away but I ain't never in a hurry when I hunt by my self cuz that's when u get ur self in a pickle

I haven't went solo in a while due to my wife's only request but I used hobbles and a dog lead from tree to hobbles pulled tight. Snap dogs up to trees barr him hold him down to unhobble grab back legs and turn him out then run get ready to put catch dogs back on him if he wants another taste.

I always get the dogs out of the way whether back on the truck or at least 50-100 yds away, if I can I get the hog either by a tree that I can climb or by the buggy or four wheeler, I cut him and depending on the size I'll either take the hobbles of or just cut them right in the middle so they'll fall off...

The duct tape trick works good and I always keep a few old feed sack in my toolbox on the truck, slide the bag over his head, might have to make a few slits in the sides for the bigger hogs, un tie him and run for the hills lol, he'll fight the bag off of his head distracting him enough for you to get away...

  cut  the hog run the 4 wheeler on top take off legg ties and back off they usually get up and run off ... smaller hogs  just cut and turn em loose they usually run off ..... one thing you can do is hold the back legg let it get up first they usually turn to fight just hold the  legg want take  long and you will see the hog turn and try to pull straight away turn loose they usually keep goin .... 4 wheeler works  best .....

I know folks that cut the Achilles for 2 reasons.
To slow him down when he turns on you and to slow him down the next time you catch him. Not all the way though, just enough to cripple that hind leg.

I have accidentally dislocated or broken hogs legs a few times catching them and I kill the hog rather than turn a crippled hog loose.

There's one that shows up every now and then goes by the name "coconut "  he can crawl as fast as a dog can run ., lighting quick . One time he saved my life

handle your dogs And enjoy the show they put on lol

I like that better, it's good to be respectful to the quarry

as a rule a hog will only make 1 pass at u and then leave . if you got enough balls you can just kick him in the nose and he'll go on his way , but i like to have a limb handy  .... just in case  ;D ;D

U just cut the nutt out of the hog and then u make him crippled that's pretty damn wrong in my eyes that's y there trying to ban are sport if ur going to cut them cut them that's fine I do it and I have done it no big deal but crippling one that's F'ed up in my eyes if u ain't got the balls or a place to get away leave the damn hog alone or drag him some were u can get away but don't cripple him just cuz ur scared
