EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

I am new to Texas bin hog hunting with n with out dogs all my life in hawaii till I joined the military then moved around to much just got out and moved to Houston wanted to start running dogs again but don't know where to start have no where to hunt from all the places I looked online you have to pay to hunt or own land and I don't want to do either in Hawaii you can just go up to the mountains n run dogs I hear there's millions of hogs dog here from what i have read but the game lands down here don't let hog dogs on the property I am getting my dogs sent up here but before I do I was hoping maybe some of you Texas hunters could help me out with info thanks kai

Kai, what part of Houston are you from? I hunt all around the Houston area... give me a call sometimes  936-827-5035.

If ever get back down south I'm about 2 hours from the west side of Houston. I've been dogging for around a year but have caught a few hogs and got a dog or 2 that I like. You can come out sometime if you'd like.

Thanks for all the replies and just so every one know I don't mind to drive I just drove 25 hours from va to Houston with 2 kids and a pregnant wife lol and also I live in spring tx thanks Mike nice to know people have the "Aloha sprit" up here

Yessir hog doggin has introduced me to some great people all over the country and this forum is the best one to be a part of. Y'all do a good job and I am glad it's available.

You really ought to take Mike up on that .  I can't say enough good things about  him and all his hunting buddies.

For almost 5 years now ! Haha ! They got damn good dogs ( you'll never hear them say that ) and they have a lot to show someone who's new or someone who thinks they've seen it all.

Kai, there are hog competition in HI.  I've always  wanted to  know what's it's like and how you would hunt. Bring your dogs. A man with good dogs will always  be able to hunt

Yeah that comps are a pretty big deal most of the time we run 2dog 4 max back home there's only two types of dogs tracking dogs n grabbing dogs mines we both so I only ran two the tracking dogs would Bay if the pig was bigger then around 150 but still had vet bills from small hogs with big teeth I don't have any dogs up here but I am going to get 1 sent up to train pups or just buy one here I am trying to find a dog with grayhound in it my dogs are line breed grayhound cat crosses the closest thing I have found to shows is the pig hunting dvd them guys run in au n nz but it's almost the same n for $8 you can't go wrong but I will say it is highly addictive
