Title: That spot that is "full of hogs" Post by: lacrash on January 06, 2016, 08:03:46 am Dogs on hunt: Nelly, Booger, Sugar, n Sadie
Catch dogs: Patches n Sheba We went to a spot that was supposed to be full of hogs. Low n behold it probably did hold a few hogs back around thanksgiving, but fast forward to January n they have moved to someone's corn pile. We dropped any way n wasted about an hour until deciding to call off the lost cause. Pops n I decided not to get down about it n hit another spot. Right off the bat we are bayed 500 yards away not 8 minutes after dropping em. The sow bayed up in a gosh awful briar thicket. We sent the two dogos from about 100 yards n started towards em. The sow was caught but every time id go to leg her she would get to where she could face me. She gave up her tail n the rest was history. We caught a nice sow n decide to make her sausage. The dogs relay to .71 n bay a group of sounders about 40 pounds. We marked two of them n left before the deer hunters made it back to the woods. My question is how many times do yall get invited on wild goose chase?? I'm talking no fresh track, no rooting, no wallows, no nothing but some sign that's as old as muthusla. The hogs are eating all my deer corn is the common complaint. The problem is they will not let you in there during deer season & when they quit putting out corn, the hogs move on but the deer hunters will swear there land is full of hogs.
