I had one that was a dark yellow. Kind of looked like a lab almost as to how thick his hair was.  Then a buddy of mine had a dang good one that kind of looked like a German Shepard.

This is Ammo, he has kind of long hair. Not like that yella dog T-bob has but he isn't a slick sheen like some of my curs.

No sir, that dog is all cur and has been for many many many generations.
Now that's not to say Airedale, Shepard or Farm collie or lord knows what couldn't be in the mix from time gone by, but The way I've been told, since the early 90's anyway it's just all E-TX curs in that pedigree.

I believe mr Barlow had a leopard pup who came out collie coated like that too, and I've heard of others.
Just wanted to see how many were floating around.

What's that Campbell? Are they curs or bird/bulls? Pardon my ignorance.

Well they call them Cambell Curs but I believe that they started as Bird Bull and who knows what else. Most are slick coated but they throw a long haired dog every now and then.

I've had a good many dogs with heavy hair. They started with Woodruff and Winfrey dogs in the seventies and have been bred tight since. I was told that Mr. Winfrey bred some running hounds into his dogs. The Woodruff and Winfrey dogs are known to through some heavy haired dogs. If any of you have seen a wooly July hound, they look a lot like T-Bob's dog.

Yes sir,  Curly is a tight woodruff dog, just one of them freak throwbacks out of a stud named Grasshopper.
The Grasshopper dog has thrown a lot of hair and a lot of umph in his pups. Have you seen the shag leopard of Barlows? How'd he turn out?

The Campbell dogs do not have any of the common known cur dogs in them but guess they had to call them something . I had a couple Campbell dogs several years ago that was shaggy haired.

Barlow's leopard didn't make the grade in the woods, but made a good Frisbee dog. He gave him to some people for a pet and that's what they did with him. In some folks book, that would count as one of those never produced a cull because he was good at something.

I have an American Leopard Cur with hair like the dog Cracker posted except she is black with brindle trim. She is a McDuffie bred dog. She reminds me of a Cat crossed with a Plott then just add a little longer hair lol.

I saw a Catahoula with a coat like a boarder collie...only pup in the litter to turn out that way....Sire/Dam NALC. She came from lines that were "known" to throw a long haired dog from time to time. She was a heck of a competition bay pen dog.

Parker gyp I got. Her hair is long and tight, almost like a Chesapeake feel to it. She still has all the brindle trim, just harder to see.  Had her litter sister, and she was slick haired.  (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160221/f5856208a9a0285cbf4cf3d6f3f8acc1.jpg)
