Title: Re: Hogs in the heat Post by: Mike on August 05, 2016, 08:18:02 pm I think how long they run comes into play also... most don't make it after being run hard in this heat. If you get one that's real hot, cut the tip of its tail off.

Title: Re: Hogs in the heat Post by: Goose87 on August 06, 2016, 10:36:10 am I've never heard that one before but it stands to reason, same notion as cutting the tips off of a dogs ear and now that I think about it I've noticed that the hogs we catch that have been run hard or are hot seem to pump thick deep red blood a lot more from their ears when we mark them than a hog that gets marked in the winter time.
Title: Re: Hogs in the heat Post by: parker49 on August 06, 2016, 12:40:06 pm seems like if I tie with rope or mule tape stacking the legs tight they don't fight it as bad and don't get as hot ..... but I also put em in a water hole and throw brush on em if I can ..... hot as it is right now I just turn em back loose ....
