Title: King of the Cowboys Post by: gary roberson on September 22, 2016, 11:58:52 am This week on CARNIVORE, Phil Lyne and I will be at the Ruger Plant in Newport, NH trying to get his old Model 77 .220 Swift back to cycling so that we can get back to calling coyotes. Phil and I have been hunting and outfitting together since the early '90s, he is a great hunter, great shot and most of all, a close friend.
For you pups, Phil was the World Champion All Around Cowboy in '71 and '72 and the only cowboy to ever win the Calf Roping and Bull Riding at the National Finals. He was such a big deal that Walt Disney shot a documentary on him entitled GREAT AMERICAN COWBOY that won several awards. If memory serves me correctly, he has been a five time World Champion. If you get a chance, I hope that you will tune in. My son, Graham, is 6 years old. He loves your show. We watch it all the time. He always says he will call in a coyote and shoot it before he turns 10. Title: Re: King of the Cowboys Post by: gary roberson on October 05, 2016, 11:20:01 am I am so honored that Graham watches the show and I know that he will be an excellent hunter as your are the kind of Dad that will see to it. Deb and I were blessed with three boys and time spent in the woods with them is priceless. Cherish these moments for they will not last as long as you think. If I get to Ringgold, will give you a shout but to be honest with you, not sure where it is and I thought that I knew where most every town was in Texas.
