Title: Catfish skinners
Post by: lettmroll on January 12, 2017, 10:21:02 pm
What is the best brand of catfish skinners?
We have always used the commercial mayburns and they do good, but an old man told me there are a couple others out there that are just as good are better.

Never used any of them. But I swear by my mini channel locks and Kline line mans work pretty darn good

You can fillet a catfish like a bass or other fish  just with electric fillet knife.

Yeah I'm going to try the electric fillet knife. Always was scared I'd waste to much meat on a catfish, but it want hurt to try one are to and see how it goes.

Mr Parker. Funny you say that. Grandpa use to eat his like that.. As kids, we'd all watch him eat alone with us. He'd say boys now I get to comb my hair! Man those days I'll never forget. He's almost 90 now,a hair short of it. Almost to hard to be around him any more. He doesn't remember me..

Check out Champlain bait and net company or the fish net company web sites. They commercial fisherman suppliers and I think each has few different types. Might give you some good info.

Walkerhuntfish, I get all my stuff from the fishnet company in jonesville la. And it's all good stuff no complaints, they carry the mayburns and I always thought they were the best. But when that old man told me that out got me to thinking.
