Title: Early Start to Fire Season
Post by: charles on May 07, 2017, 03:24:30 pm
Got called up from our AoO in idaho and made a long drive from twin falls to lake city, fl to fight a wild fire in the southern swamps of Ga, a few miles across the state line.
My assigned ship

Our sister ship

There are 2 S-61s, 2 K Maxx, 2 H-60s and our 2 CH-47s, which for 1 47, can drop as much, and sometimes more water per cycle than 2 of any of the other ships on this heli base combined.

K-Maxx funky looking thing, but for its size, is a lifting sob.

Both of the 60s

I forgot about the fixed wing tankers. there were 3 on site, and an additional 2 were called in.

Barely can see the smoke, its just over the top and left of the vertical blue canoes.

I'm full time in the SC national guard. I'm on the Blackhawks at McEntire. We've been doing a lot of fire/rescue stuff the past few years
