I am curious as to what other hog doggers do during deer season.  For the most part, I only hunt city properties during deer season.  

My vote was "keep hunting as normal" since; for the most part i only hunt at night, most of my places are bigger, most of my places do managed hunts no season leases, most of my places are surrounded by bigger ranches that manage hunts as well. Have hunted thru deer season for the last 10+ years with no problems. A few cut me off because they do season leases but not many any more.

But.......I never leave a dog out over night. Most of my ranches I have hunted for a min of 5 yrs so everyone knows me and my dogs and most of the land owners that i hunt for hunt with me. I do more mid week hunts this time of year, not so much about hunters but the days are shorter so I can get out and done easier and still make work the next morning.

i dont have a problem with deer leases . the ones i do hunt we wait until after season . but for the most part all the land i hunt are cattle ranches , rice feilds and marsh . but that is just how it is down here plenty of hogs and they want them gone

i would only hunt night. even on large properties, the dogs dont see signs and fences. i dont like taking the risk of someone shooting one of my dogs. they are gonna go wherever the hog goes. Then you take the risk of trespassing charges if you have to go get the dogs.. I think that you would be more likely to get charges pressed on you if you or your dogs mess up someones hunt. i deer hunt also, and i wouldnt be happy if a big buck was coming my way, and all of a sudden 20 dogs come by chasing a piglet and run him off. lol jmo

I dont hunt most of my ranches during deer season. I have one small ranch (2800 acres) that I can still hunt but very careful about how and when.

I typically slow down a lot during season and move to a few places further east that do not have deer hunters.

We don't have much of a problem working around the deer shooters (people don't really "hunt" deer anymore). Part of our area has only Mule deer and a 3 week season. The areas where there is whitetail hunting we will hunt at night or during the week when the hunters are not out and about.

We loose a few of our places till dear season is over...other than that it is doggin' as usual!

I hunt in the piney woods of east texas.  Cherokee Co, Smith Co, Nach. Co., Etc.  And about all we hunt is hunting leases, or private property that the owners do deer hunt.  So we are pretty much completly shut down during deer season.  The only way i would hunt during deer season would be at night during the week.  Alot of  people are in the woods around here during deer season.  But it is a great time to consentrate on your pups and do some training.

We lose several places to hunt during deer season as they are leased to deer hunters and they don't want dogs in there during deer season. Course, they don't want the hogs in there around their feeders either............What sucks is many will just gut shoot the hogs and let them run off to die. These are hogs I could be catching!

On the other hand, we pick up a few places as Fla allows deer dogs and most places that allow deer dogs will allow hog dogs even if you can't use them during closed deer season on the place. I have one property that is 24,000 + acres that I can only hog dog hunt during deer season. You have to contend with the deer hounds so weekday hunts are best on this place as there are fewer deer hounds running then. No night hunting allowed on this property at all.

The state also has some permit hog dog hunts on state land that rarely sees hog dogs (legally anyway). We hunted some of these last year and got permits this year too.

I run dogs all year long including deer season. I do have many people that rent the bay pen and woods pens during deer season. It a good way to keep dogs in shape

luckily it does not affect me.my game cams have caught dogs 10;30 at night checkin a feeder for hogs and 7;30 the next morning a big buck... but good luck convincing those deer hunters that it doesn,t affect them..

Luckily for me the property I run dogs on has no deer hunters on it thats part of why I run there, if I find em' they are poaching and in trouble.. The other places I hunt with buddies are hunted at night for the most part.

we get to hunt a few places every once in while but not much...

Some places I avoid while hunters are around, some hunters don't care as long as they can go, and other places don't have hunters so its not a big deal for me.  I just keep hunting mostly.
