Title: Young dogs doing good
Post by: shadygrovehawgdawg on February 03, 2018, 02:06:25 pm
Cut 3 young dogs loose today and kept the older one in the box. They rolled out pretty good a couple different times and were hunting pretty good. Had to talk to one of them about some cows and why we don't bay them. They headed out, threw their noses up and 200 yards later, fell bayed. We walked in with the bulldogs and watched them bay for 15 minutes. Cut the bulldogs loose and caught a decent boar. 160-175 just looking and guessing. All 3 probably haven't been in the woods maybe 10-12 times all added up together. Thanks, guys. It's tough to leave your good ones in the box, but it's the best way to find out how them young dogs are doing. Took my little catch dog Hammer, first time I got to take him since getting cut up so bad a few weeks ago. He still has it , and has healed up nice.

I agree with you. There is no better way then to let the young dogs do it their self. Nice hog.
