Title: Night Hunt
Post by: Mike on February 03, 2018, 06:50:57 pm
I haven't hunted at night in several years... got to where I just enjoyed hunting in the daylight more. Well, I had to dust the old coon light off last night and go hunt a golf course. About 9:30 we stretched a good boar on the fairway haha. He tried to run, but 5 cur dogs sucked him up and had him spinning...

That is a really good hog, Mike. That would be my kind of golf right there.

Damn nice boar! Don't guess the country club wants a bunch of rednecks asking to play thru to get to a bayed hog in daylight!

Another good one, I enjoy daylight hunting the most but have to admit I do love night hunting, especially young dogs, it presents an entirely different challenge to a dog and will help one learn to really rely on their nose and how to use it, I'll start hunting mainly at night beginning around the end of May or so, I'm actually able to hunt a lot longer than normally, I'll start around 10 or 11 or so and am able to hunt to about 9-10 the next morning during the peak of summer...

Haha... luckily they're closed for a couple more months from the flood. If not, dang golfers would think they showed up to a murder scene!

Thanks fellas!

Good one as usual, Mike. That would be about the only way to get me to go golfing.
