Title: Re: feeders Post by: GitDatHawg on April 11, 2008, 09:58:21 pm cut down on the seconds feeding :D :D I dont really believe their is an alternative. Although have seen ,instead of spinner feeders, different self-made hog feeders where you take a big hard plastic drum put some holes in it, fill it with corn and attach it by chain to a t-post driven into the ground so hogs could roll it around a get a little bit of corn out of it.
Title: Re: feeders Post by: BRUTE on April 15, 2008, 01:52:06 pm I one one of those pig pipe things out of 4" pvc. Had 3-3/8s holes in it for corn to come out. They would clean it out it one night... it help one bag of corn. Worked good, but can't afford that either. :D

Will be putting feeders up for sale if that happens. Title: Re: feeders Post by: T-Bob Parker on August 01, 2008, 05:03:18 pm If you can make freinds with the people at your local feed stores they can be a big help, every once in a while feed stores get bags (or discover them) of supplemental horse, cow, and/or poultry feeds that are just chock full of weevels and want to get rid of it ASAP. They will usually make you incredible deals to get you to buy all that you can of it. Hogs dont care that the food is full of weevels and it makes great feed. Check feed stores in the suburbs, those "equine afficionados" wont buy ugly bags, so find someone desperate enough and haggle with'm
