Title: 1-26-19 Hunt
Post by: Mike on January 27, 2019, 11:06:04 am
Had good hunt yesterday, ended up with 5... including 1 bayed in the middle of a damn road! Finished it off with about a 5 mile walk chasing my Sally and Catfish dogs... I’m getting too old for this haha.

Good hunt mike. That walking is for the birds when it’s like that.

Thanks fellas.

Tony, they were in about a 3 mile x 2 mile block of woods with no way to drive in. I could tell they had a group bayed by the way they were circling on the Garmin. They were bayed for over an hour before we even started heading to them. I guess the hogs finally had enough and they kept breaking and baying again... but steadily going away from us haha. Finally caught the first one about about 2 1/4 miles from the buggy, they rolled off of it went damn near a mile the other way and bayed again. I kept them two black daddy didn't marry mommys with me after that haha!

Lol hard to be mad at them after that. It makes the walk more enjoyable when they do stuff like that.

Thanks y’all.

My dogs are dead tone broke... when I hit the button, they hit reverse. That’s how I keep them off the roads and the neighbors. Those weren’t mine in the video... the first thing I ask folks that come hunt the city with me is “are your dogs traffic broke???” hahaha. We’ve lost 3 to trains over the years, but none to cars... knock on wood.

It amazes me how dogs and livestock will stand and let a train hit them, in speculation I suppose they may have poor depth perception and couple that with them being mentally distracted by what they are doing, when a train is coming straight at them they don't realize how close it is. Outstanding hunt by the way.
