Title: Have gotten lightly started on the hogs here at home. Post by: The Old Man on December 30, 2020, 07:15:42 pm Made a couple of trips at night and the dogs have caught some 50/70 lb shoats, another night we got in a big group of hogs in a rough place, dogs split and ran forever, no telling how many times they switched hogs, finally got a solid bay across a big creek drove around and went in to about 40 yds and sent the catch dog, hog must have heard him coming and broke running back in the area the group had been and scattered dogs again, finally got tired of it and started catching them up, they all had ice in their hair.

Post by: Cajun on December 30, 2020, 08:05:18 pm Clue we have plenty of days like that but the good thing is the young dogs are getting run and legged up. Ice in their hair, whew, that is too cold for me. I'm turning into a wuss in my old age. lol

I’m not mad enough at hogs to hunt at night anymore and that ice in the hair sounds like it just might have been pretty dang chilly! Sounds like your dogs were sure enough trying and working hard.
