HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Good one gone to soon

Don't post here much anymore, but I've been heart broke bout this for the past couple day so figured I'd make a post. Loaded all the dogs and headed to the ranch with the family. Got to the ranch and with the cooler weather we decided we'd make a run that night and start a little early. We decided we'd make 2 separate runs, and there first run being with the "long range dogs" So we load up ginger & fancy and pull up to the feeder. There making loops and then fancy bounces out 400+ and all you hear is grunting, ginger shows up and they bay up the whole sounder down in the creek bottom. Well we finally get there and it wait a minute and you start hearing the hogs rally and it goes to 1 dog baying. Immediately we cut the Bulldogs, and get in there behind them and there's just blood stains all over the Rock and you just see fancy baying the hell out of this hog which usually is odd because she's usually gone when I show up to the bay. So I knew something was wrong, get the hog kiled and fancy immediately walks up to me and falls over so I throw her over my shoulder and get back to the buggie and she's sliced up from head to toe. Got her back to the cabin and taken care of to the point to where she was sitting up and drinking. But woke up next morning and she just didn't make it. Least to say I'm kind of tore up about it. I don't keep but maybe 4-5 dogs total. So the ones I have I put all I can into them. That little dogs gonna be missed around my yard. They might be working dogs, but there family at my house. So just remember it can always be there last hunt boys. Cherish the memories you get, because seems like these days the good ones are few and far between and they tend to spoil the hell out of you. I know she did. RIP FANCY.

HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: What's your opinion

You also need to be aware that sometimes your judgement might not always agree with chris. And that's ok, because I do know chris and I know he has some solid dogs and I know he has high expectations, but what I'm trying too say is sometimes one mans junk is another's treasure. I have a couple dogs some would cull. And I've seen enough people's "good dogs" that I'd cull. So with that being said just be smart. For example most of the straight Catahoula dogs that I've seen and been around don't fully excel till around 2-3 yrs old. Like also some of the tater dogs that Chris is Into from what I've owned and seen. Slower too develop and mature. I guess what I'm really getting at that it takes a lot of time and work too make a good dog. Or you can save your money and I know a couple for sale around 1,500-3,000.... Lol good luck

A swell about the size of a softball already built up. So put her up and next day took her too the vet since the thing was rock solid. Turns out he hooked her good and tore the muscle and got some intestines. She spent a week and half in the vet and 3 days post surgery but the internal trama was too much. That hog cut every dog. When we went back too load the hog he broke the damn rope and never stopped. So that night we didn't only lose the hog that cut every damn dog but that suckers running around with rope on his feet. Well following week I was still pissed and wanted that dudes head. So we got him. And no it don't replace the dog but it feels damn good. So RIP Milli. Gone but never forgotten. You'll be missed for sure..

I usually don't post much on here anymore, but I felt like this deserved some recognition. We dropped dogs and not 15 min in we had about a 225 boar caught & tied. Dogs had rolled out and were Bayed again. My gyp Milli ended up coming back too me. Never in her 3 years has this dog left a solid bay.. She comes back and I notice she has a swell sp
