I have a 7 year old sure enough strike dog.she Has been hood hunted and even from the back of truck will whimper when you drive past pigs. She is a semi open track and will take a pig well over a mile. Trash broke and the easiest dog to handle. Getting away from long range dogs due to the surrounding landowners. If you need a good teacher dog or just need some range she will be perfect. Not very gritty and semi loose bay has the scars to show why. I have three hounds for sale. the first is a year and a half 1/2 blue tick 1/4 cat 1/4 cur , has found prob 10 pigs on her own will bay the hair off of a hog hunts close intil she hits sign then will go. she goes really good with my dogs and is always at the bay. born and raised on my farm. 500$
the next is a black and tan male hound not started on anything but is a good looking dog from new mexico outta cat / bear bloodlines 250$
last but not least is a 8 month walker that has bayed several times in the pen with the other dogs and bayed very good and stuck with it acted pretty gritty but didn't let her try. 300$
