1  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Catch dog Jaw Muscle Cramp?????? on: February 09, 2016, 06:58:52 pm
Thanks for the help guys. I'm leaning towards a very hard strain and a pulled muscle.  Amokabs you are probably right, it's gotta be tough on them straight out of the gate after 4-5 months off.

Just an update.... It's been over 48hrs and the swelling has went down. He uses his mouth more and seems to feel better. He don't mind shaking his head this evening.  Guess it was just a cramp or pulled muscle.  He shouldn't be dehydrated. This was the 1st hunt in 4-5 months because of deer season. He has a 5gal bucket of water in his kennel as well. Skin of his neck shows no sign of dehydration. I tried to get the wife to go message his jaw muscles but........  I'll try him this weekend if he keeps improving. It's been a weird scenario but looks like it no big deal

I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome. He's eating and drinking so I don't feel it's "life threatning" at the moment. If it's not better by Monday I'll take him to vet. Thanks for a quick response slim
4  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Catch dog Jaw Muscle Cramp?????? on: February 06, 2016, 09:10:42 pm
Any experiences?? My Dogo caught a good sow today and after I caught and tied hog the Dogo could barely open his mouth.  All the dogs were hot and he could barely open his mouth enough for his tounge to stick out. I checked it good. Couldn't find any poke's, no broke teeth, jaw is still aligned, feels normal.  His cheek/jaw muscles are huge and hard as a rock. I had to pry his mouth open some so he could breathe.  Any ideas or experiences?
5  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / SOLD! Thanks ETHD for letting me post Catahoula Gyp sold 2/5/14 on: February 04, 2014, 04:28:12 pm
Im thinking of parting with one of my older dogs.  She is about 6yrs old. Good all around solid dog. Will hunt and bay by herself or with other dogs. Hunts out to 300yds in thick terrain, farther in sign or open terrain. Bays and hunts hard. Busy, busy in woods, she wont be at your feet. Trash broke. Silent on track but have heard her bark first 100 yds or so but think she must have been lookin at one because that has only happened a time or two. Im considering selling her because my pack is all younger (some she trained) that can fly and she just cant keep up. She has the bottom just not the speed anymore. The area I hunt is hunted very hard and these pigs run really bad so I cant hardly use her. Good mama dog and easy to handle. $1000 sale in the woods or 750 not in woods. I also have a few "help" dogs and a couple good prospect younger dogs. We have PayPal (debit or credit card accepted)

7  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Finished Cat Gyp strike dog on: April 25, 2013, 05:22:26 pm
She is 5 years old, yellow leopard, double glass eyes, few scars(nothing major), short range when not in sign but will find a hog in sign or find a track. Tons of bottom, wont hardly leave a track. Trash broke. All you need is another bay dog or two to have a pack.  She doesn't like a big pack 8-10 dogs( which is the reason for selling). She isn't mean, she just don't hunt as good in a crowd of dogs.  She isnt as fast as she once was( or my younger dogs are just faster), but she is game!  Good disposition, will lead and load. Good pup trainer too! My lead dog just bred her a few days ago(accident), but will make some jam up pups! Dog she is bred to is in background in pic. $1000 or $750 and i get pick of the litter! Saline, la 318-663-6690 trying to post pic but it's saying it's too large. Text for pics, video, or info
