1  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Pond moss control on: July 09, 2014, 10:15:50 pm
What's out there on the market (can be bought WITH OUT a chemical license) that will get pond moss and what looks to be young Lilly pads under control? That chit is taking my pond over, and NO my pond hasn't turned over, the fish and turtles are thriving, but it's getting to where I can't sit on the dam n watch the water animals move around. The Lilly's are from the edge out between 5' and 10' then a thick layer of moss just under the top of the water.
ducks will clean it up.

Can you post a link to where you read this?
I didn't read the part about the Lance Rosier Unit I was a witness I was squirrel hunting and heard the commotion and slipped up and saw it. The up coming eradication was in the Silsbee bee newspaper,so I called my uncle who also is a government trapper and he confirmed it.

If you live outside city limits and you live in a subdivision you need to check with county judge.

I got a female min pin that might weight 10 lbs that is my house dog and every time I pull up with hogs and let her out she hammers em so when we went today we loaded her up in the cab and took her for sh**s and giggles.. Well she got in there and hammered down to my amazement.. If I could upload pics I got 2 good ones of her..anyways what's some crazy breeds y'all have seen?? I'm not taking her serious just if we're making a quick round and she is laid up on the couch I might load her up again ha ha..
a big sow can kill your pet so you can giggle ?

I didn't care how crazy the Pitts would get I just put a muzzle and led through the wood are he might snap me I have been hog hunting longer than than most but you can control these animals they must be chained and with heavy collar never mix with other dogs I never wanted one that wasn't crazy as a Bessy bug when and it will happen he will turn on you you need to let him no who the boss is and I stress the last words. I have been training hog dogs for thirty plus years .

Find you a cross between american bulldog and olde english bulldog. If you need a full grown dog, get him from a pound. Pound dogs are always hungry. If you get one from a litter of pups. Pick the pup that wants to tug on your pant leg, nip your hand, or wants to play rough. When you get a cross of these breeds, they aren't as crazy as some pits out there. I have 2 like this. They are actually protective of my kids towards strangers and they will rip the snout off of a 150 pound hog. Literally. I have a white one and a brindle and white one you can see in action on my facebook page-rollingthunderec
.

I breed a good gritty curr to a line of sporting Pitts pretty dangerous have to muzzle but they would go ballistic on the baddest boar never used vest and never lost one to a hog but must know how to handle not for newbies.

13  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: When was the moment you knew you were hooked! on: March 17, 2014, 10:17:50 am
I was four years old which makes it forty-six years ago when me and my dad went hog hunting in Hardin County near Bragg rd we had one mountain curr . It wasn't long after we left the truck maybe five minutes that old Spot bayed up.We worked our way through the tall palmetto we come up on a big knoll and there at least 75 head they never even broke as the stock law had not been turned that long. Most owners still marked and worked there hogs but we still picked two Barr hogs and shot them and spot caught a bunch of pig and my dad and I cut them I knew then running deer was not my bag and to this day I never ran a deer or even owned a hound.
