Out here in California airedale has been used on hogs forever, whether full blooded or crossed with some kind of cur. There's guys running patterdale, jrt's and rat terriers. Check out California catchers, I don't know the guy but he has some good info on his terrier that might help you. Gritty little catchy dogs for sure.

Wishing her a safe return to you. I hate dog thieves with a passion. It's no different out here in California, can't hardly trust anyone these days.

Searching for a male or female cur strike dog that will find & bay a hog on its own. Short to medium range & closed mouth. Trash broke a must, gun broke preferred. No ill dogs with aggression problems or towards other dogs. I'm not looking for a RCD or helper dog. Must be able to hunt. Any leads appreciated. Thank you, JP Renner Ph: 831-998-5933 Email: ecvripper@gmail.comI am in Salinas, California

Yes, I believe a dog from hunting or game lines are genetically predisposed to do whatever they're bred to do whether they are neutered or not.

I had this pit I got as a puppy who hated every dog he met. Was about 5 months old when I brought him home and rt off the bat wanted to fight my cat gyp. I broke him off wanting to fight with her for the rest of his life that first day. Still hated other dogs and we eventually git him clipped at around a year. It didn't slow him down one bit, if he was given one inch he would get busy on another dog. I had him put down because of his dog aggression. He was great with kids and people and smart as hell but damn loved to fight. I really don't believe getting a male fixed will change him other than wanting to breed a bitch in heat.

Ive always liked my red wings (Made in USA), not the crappy import versions they also sell. But the price is always a premium. My buddy has started wearing Thourogood's, Made in America and he says they are hard to beat and not as pricey as redwings. I'm gonna try them next.

Been reading here and there on this site for a while and there is so much quality information here, best site for hunting hogs ive ever saw. Im in California and it is different because of our laws but doggin hogs is approached very similar. I quit running dogs in 01 and have been without a dog since 08 but that's about to change. Going to look at some catahoula/bmc cross pups this weekend hopefully. Well just wanted to introduce myself and let everyone know that I really appreciate your website and forum. 25 years ago when I started stuff like this couldn't even be imagined. Thanks, JP
